Privacy Policy

How we handle the information you give us when you book, contact us or browse this website. Last updated 30 September 2026.

1. Who we are

This website is run by Chiang Mai's Elephant Home Sanctuary, Mae Win, Mae Wang District, Chiang Mai 50360, Thailand. For any privacy question, write to info@elephantsanctuary-chiangmai.org.

2. What we collect and why

Booking requests and messages

When you send a booking request or contact form we receive your name, email address, phone number, tour, date, hotel, number of guests and any notes you write. We use this only to confirm and run your tour and to answer your questions. The form is processed by Web3Forms, which delivers it to our email.

WhatsApp and email

If you contact us on WhatsApp or by email, we receive what you send and your phone number or address. WhatsApp is operated by Meta and is subject to its own privacy terms.

Website measurement

We use Google Analytics and Google Ads conversion measurement to learn which pages and adverts lead to booking requests, and Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights to measure page speed. If you arrived from a Google ad, we store the ad click identifier (gclid) and campaign details (utm parameters) in your browser and add them to your booking request so we can tell which ad led to the booking.

3. Cookies and consent

In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google's advertising and analytics cookies stay off until you accept them in the banner. You can change your mind at any time: change cookie settings. Your choice is saved in your browser (local storage key es_consent).

4. Who receives your data

Web3Forms (form delivery), Google (analytics and advertising measurement), Vercel (website hosting and speed measurement) and Meta (WhatsApp). These providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States. We do not sell your data.

5. How long we keep it

Booking and contact details are kept for as long as needed to run your booking and to meet our legal and accounting obligations, then deleted. Browser attribution data expires after 90 days.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, the UK GDPR or Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act) you can ask to see, correct or delete your data, object to its use, or withdraw consent. Email us and we will respond. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

7. Changes

We will update this page if we change how we use data. The date at the top shows the latest version.
